How does strength training help weight loss?
Strength training increases lean muscle tissue. The more lean muscle tissue that you have, the faster your resting metabolism. Vigorous strength workouts increase production of key fat-burning hormones.
Intense training with weights recruits more fast twitch muscle fiber than lengthy, steady paced cardio sessions, which rely mostly on slow twitch fiber. Fast twitch fiber requires more calories to function.
Lifting weights shapes and “hardens” the body, creating more benefits than simply what you see on the scale. Tight, toned muscle takes up less space than loose muscle.
In our Moonee Ponds Personal Training studio, we insist upon the need to understand your technical baseline. In order to determine your individual strengths and needs so that you can achieve your goals quickly and without injury, when you come to us you will be offered three introductory sessions, free of charge. These Foundation Sessions are unique to Collective Fitness and are mandatory before joining us!
Do you provide nutrition guidance?
Our job as personal trainers and fitness coaches is to help you lose fat in a healthy way that is easy to achieve and, more importantly, easy to maintain.
As part of your journey to self-transformation, we’ll assist you to learn your body and your individual nutrition needs. How to fuel appropriately and when, for your desired goals. Lifestyle and all its aspects play a key role in changing your body, we help you, overtime develop habits, broaden nutrition knowledge and implement moderation to keep you performing and feeling your best.
What do I need to do before I start?
Visit our Personal Training Moonee Ponds studio and you’ll quickly realise that the key to your success is the time we invest with you at the start of your journey. Initially, you will complete our in-depth health profile to enable us to learn more about your background, good and bad habits, desired goals as well as highlight any barriers/limitations to exercise that may be present.
We ask a lot of questions but believe us when we say that we’ve developed this questionnaire through hundreds of clients. Following a review of this information, an in-depth but friendly and informal consultation in person will ensure we have all the information we require as well as a chance for you to ask as many questions as you like.
